Inter Milan Preview: Nerazzurri ineffeciency

Simone Inzaghi’s Internazionale comfortably won their 20th Italian title last season as they secured the second star upon their badge but they haven’t been as clinical and decisive at both ends of the pitch in both the UEFA Champions League and Serie A so far this season.

That said, the Nerazzurri remain steady and strong as they come into this one on the back of a 5-0 thrashing of Hellas Verona at the Bentegodi at the weekend with just one defeat in 17 matches across all competitions so far this season.

RB Leipzig Preview: Lacklustre Leipzig

Despite RB Leipzig still sitting third in the Bundesliga table, their bright start to the campaign came from results being a lot better than their performances and the pressure is now beginning to grow on former Borussia Monchengladbach boss Marco Rose.

Leipzig come into this one on the back of an entertaining 4-3 loss to struggling Hoffenheim at the weekend in a game they led 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2. That loss means they are now winless in their last four matches across all competitions.

Inter Milan Team News: No Calhanoglu

Hakan Calhanoglu has described himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in world football but the Inter captain is missing with a hip injury, whilst centre-back Francesco Acerbi is also a doubt due to a thigh injury.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Pavard, De Vrij, Bisseck; Dumfries, Frattesi, Barella, Zielinski, Dimarco; Thuram, Martinez

Unavailable: Calhanoglu (Injured)

Questionable: Acerbi (Injured)

Inter Milan vs RB Leipzig Prediction

Internazionale will be expected to take the game to their opposition, even if it seen as a bit of a free hit thanks to their excellent results and performances in the competition thus far. They appeared to have also rediscovered their clinical and ruthless nature in the league against Verona at the weekend. Leipzig weren’t playing well but getting results and are now not playing well with results falling more into line with their performance level so a home win is to be expected.
