Inter Milan Preview: Inzaghi’s winners

Internazionale come into this one on the back of a defeat of Serie A league leaders Atalanta by two goals to nil at Al Awwal Park in a game in which the Bergamasci were probably the better side but Denzel Dumfries notched a second-half brace to separate the two sides.

The Nerazzurri have suffered just one defeat across 25 matches across all competitions and have seemingly found their rhythm in recent weeks. That 2-0 defeat of Atalanta was their fifth successive victory across all competitions without conceding a goal in that time.

AC Milan Preview: The Conceicao era

Paulo Fonseca, who was appointed to much scepticism over the summer, was relieved of his duties last week and replaced by former Porto boss Sergio Conceicao at AC Milan. A massive shift in styles, the Rossoneri and Conceicao started his reign very well the other day.

Milan had gone behind against Juventus with Turkey international Kenan Yildiz scoring after 21 minutes. However, Milan managed to overturn the deficit via Christian Pulisic equalising from the penalty spot before a Federico Gatti own goal a few minutes later in the second-half.

Inter Milan Team News: Defensive injuries

AC Milan Team News: Pulisic fitness

‘Captain America’ Christian Pulisic was expected to be unavailable for this week but he featured and scored against Juventus. Milan do remain without a few key players such as Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Portugal international Rafael Leao.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Emerson Royal, Tomori, Thiaw, Hernandez; Bennacer, Fofana, Reijnders; Pulisic, Alvaro Morata, Alex Jimenez

Inter Milan vs AC Milan Prediction

Inter romped to their 20th Scudetto last season to earn the second star upon their badge last season and it was a very impressive campaign that saw them crowned champions with a derby win against Milan in April. They haven’t been as efficient as they were at the back end of last season but have perhaps already been better than they were at this stage last year and they are already in an excellent position. Milan will take a lot from their come from behind defeat of Juve the other day and it will buy Conceicao favour and time with supporters but Inter are firm favourites for this one in the Supercoppa Italiana final.
