Ikram Aliskerov vs Andre Muniz prediction
Ikram Aliskerov (15-2) and Andre Muniz (24-6) will finally meet in the Octagon having seen their previous bout at the start of February postponed due to visa issues for Muniz and his team. Almost three months later, they will meet in Kansas City on Saturday night and it promises to be a quality bout.
Aliskerov suffered defeat for just the second time of his professional MMA career last time out as he suffered a knockout loss to Robert Whittaker last June in Saudi Arabia. His only previous loss came back in 2019 during his time with Brave CF and that was also a knockout loss to Khamzat Chimaev. Other than those losses against two of the best in the world, Aliskerov has beaten everybody else put in front of him.
Muniz bounced back from successive losses last time out as he gained a split decision win over Park Jun-Yong in December 2023. That was the last time he fought so there may be some rust as it is almost 18 months since then.
He lost to Brendan Allen via submission and was TKO’d by Paul Craig after that to derail his run up the rankings but a win here would really catapult him back up there.
The submission specialist will find it difficult to create openings to work with here. Aliskerov is incredibly strong and should control the fight with his elite Sambo background. He may not get the stoppage but we expect him to nullify Muniz’s threat, control the bout and grind out the decision win.
Prediction: Ikram Aliskerov to win by decision
