Iga Swiatek vs Coco Gauff Prediction
Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff meet for a 14th time on the WTA Tour and it is Swiatek who leads the head-to-head 11-2. It was Gauff who won the last meeting however at the WTA Finals in Saudi Arabia at the end of 2024 but it is hard to pay too much attention to that one given the fact Swiatek had not played since the US Open and clearly was not hugely motivated to play that tournament.
Aside from that, Swiatek has had a clear edge over Gauff and she has also started 2025 in superb form also. She seems to be on a mission to win this trophy for her nation and she has won every one of her four singles matches to help Poland reach the final. Her 7-6 6-4 win in the semi-finals to beat Elena Rybakina was particularly impressive and she will fancy her chances of imposing her game on Gauff here.
Coco Gauff eased past Karolina Muchova on Saturday 6-1 6-4 and she too has won all four singles matches this week. When needed, she has also won her two doubles matches so Gauff comes in with plenty of confidence here.
Both players are clearly desperate to win this for their nations given how hard they have played all week but our clear preference lies with Swiatek. She is on a mission here to show she means business as well as winning this for her country and we think she gets another win over Gauff here.
