THE PREDICTION
USA’s hopes of making it to the IIHF World Championship final were
dashed as they suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Canada. The
Americans went into that semi-final on a seven-match winning streak but
they were unable to get the better of the Canadians and will now do
battle for Germany for the right to finish the tournament in third spot.
The Germans were edged by Finland as the reigning champions got the
better of them in a tight affair and Germany’s lack of firepower
ultimately proved costly which could be the case once again in this one.
