Tampa Bay Lightning doubled their lead to begin the Stanley Cup final and they did so with another solid display. After claiming a 1-5 success in game 1, a 1-3 victory followed in game 2 but having lost their last two games on the road, they will need to get off to a good start if they are to open a huge lead in their quest to defend their title.

MONTREAL CANADIENS LOWDOWN

Montreal Canadiens must make home ice advantage count as they head to Canada with a 0-2 deficit to overturn in the Stanley Cup final. The most successful team in NHL history have made a poor start but are 5-1 at Bell Centre in their last six matches so they will be confident of getting off the mark here.

Tampa Bay Lightning did what was required on home ice and they will head to Canada for game 3 full of confidence. The reigning champions opened up a 2-0 lead with back-to-back wins and they will now look to move to within a solitary victory of claiming the Stanley Cup. However, Montreal will be desperate to get off to a quick start to try and stop the rot and while they are capable of doing so, Lightning look a class above so far and can secure a third straight win to begin the final.
