THE TEAM NEWS
TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
- Toronto Maple Leafs could not build on their win over Boston Bruins as they were edged out in overtime against Columbus Blue Jackets and know they have room for improvement after hitting the 10-game mark for the season with a 5-3-2 record.
- The Maple Leafs found themselves two goals down early in the first period but responded superbly to tie the game heading into the second period and took the lead towards the end of that but they could not hold on and ultimately suffered a loss.
- Andreas Johnsson was able to take to the ice against the Blue Jackets following his injury scare but the game came too soon for center Zach Hyman who is still dealing with a knee problem although he is due back any time now.
BOSTON BRUINS
- Boston Bruins went down to a second straight loss as they were defeated by Toronto Maple Leafs on the road but get an immediate chance to reverse that result as they welcome the Canadian side to the TD Garden.
- The Bruins were able to tie the game twice having gone behind but they could not find a way to get in front and the Maple Leafs were able to seal the win in overtime which saw the Bruins fall to 5-1-2.
- David Krejci will again sit out as he has not yet recovered from an upper body injury while Karson Kuhlman will be a game-time decision after he blocked a shot in the last game against the Maple Leafs and has not been able to practice since.
THE PREDICTION
Boston Bruins get the chance for a quick shot at redemption as they face Toronto Maple Leafs for the second time in three days. The Maple Leafs were 3-4 winners in the game they hosted thanks to an overtime victory but now head to Boston knowing their task will be more difficult this time around. The Bruins will host just their fourth game of the season and with two wins and a shootout loss to their name at home so far, they will be confident of gaining revenge over the Maple Leafs.
