Hyder Amil: The Hurricane aiming to maintain 100% record
Hyder Amil (10-0) looks like he has been in the UFC his entire career and after getting his shot via Dana White’s Contender Series, he has knocked out both of his opponents in the Octagon so far. 2024 was a breakout year for him as he knocked out Fernie Garcia in February and then TKO’d Jeong Yeong Lee in July so his confidence will be sky high coming into this one.
William Gomis: French star looking for 13th successive win
William Gomis (14-2) is looking like the real deal and he continues to impress every time he fights. The Frenchman has won all four fights since entering the UFC and unquestionably his best win, albeit his hardest fight, came last time out as he earned a split decision win over Joanderson Brito in September. He will know a win here will only catapult him closer to the top 15 in the UFC rankings.

This is one of our favourite bouts on the card at UFC Fight Night 253 at The Apex and we are fascinated to see which of this rising talents can get the win.
Both are on long winning runs but something will have to give here.
We really like the look of Gomis and as the calibre of opponent has stepped up, he has continued to find a way to win. We just give him the preference here based on who he has fought and beaten.
Amil should not be underestimated and there is every chance he could claim the win here but our sense is just favouring the Frenchman getting another victory and most probably via decision.
