Hubert Hurkacz vs Tomas Machac Prediction

Hubert Hurkacz lost his opening match as he went down 7-5 6-3 at the hands of Casper Ruud but thankfully Poland won the other two matches in that tie against Norway to win 2-1.

Hurkacz will be hoping to do better here against Tomas Machac who he has met once before on the ATP Tour and he beat in straight sets in Marseille in 2024.

The 24-year-old Czech was also beaten by Casper Ruud but he did manage to take him to three sets despite the result going against him. That will give him some confidence that he can push Hurkacz here but so much will come down to how he handles the big Pole’s serve.

Machac played the Next Gen Finals a couple of weeks ago and was largely disappointing and he has not quite got going just yet. We do think his athleticism will be key here and he can enjoy some success defending against the impressive Hurkacz serve. We do not have huge confidence in this one but he is our pick to edge this with the tie likely going to the doubles.
