Hubert Hurkacz vs Taylor Fritz Prediction

Hubert Hurkacz started this tournament slowly losing his first two matches but he has responded well by winning both ties in the knockout stage. He comes off an emphatic 6-3 6-2 win over Kazakhstan’s Alexander Shevchenko and will now be fired up to help lead his nation to glory in the final.

Taylor Fritz came through a tough semi-final clash with Tomas Machac but that was thanks due to an unexpected retirement from the Czech talent. With Machac leading 7-6 and the 5-6 in the second set, he had wasted match points on Fritz’s serve and had led 5-2. He had various emotional outbursts and then retired so Fritz was handed the victory.

That could well have been Fritz’s second loss after he lost his opening match against Canada to Felix Auger-Aliassime and he has not quite hit the levels that team-mate Gauff has. He is however still playing well and has won three of his four previous meetings against Hubert including the last two. 

They met in the semis of this tournament in 2023 and Fritz won 7-6 7-6 and we could see a similarly hard-fought match here. Fritz should just edge this although do not expect much to separate the two players.
