Holger Rune put his physical issues behind with him with victory against Albert Ramos Vinolas in the first-round. He struck 28 winners on his way to winning 7-5 6-4, a week after he was forced to withdraw from Monte-Carlo because of food poisoning. The Norwegian was pegged back after going a break up in the second but managed to get the job done in the end.

He is up against Sebastian Baez, who recovered from a second set slump to defeat Damir Dzumhur. Baez blitzed through the first set, taking it 6-1 but had to recover from being 5-3 down in the second to advance. The Argentine reeled off four straight games to pick up his second win against the Bosnian. 

The head-to-head between these two is 2-2, with Baez leading 2-1 on clay. He won their last encounter on the surface too, coming from a set down to beat Rune in Rome last year. We think this is too close to call, but a three-set battle is likely.
