Holger Rune vs Roberto Carballes Baena Prediction

Denmark’s Holger Rune has not quite got going yet in 2025 and he comes off another disappointing week in Buenos Aires where he was eliminated in his opening match against Mariano Navone. He was the second seed in that tournament but he could not take advantage of that and he will be hoping to show more in Acapulco this week.

His opponent Roberto Carballes Baena has had a similar start to the year and after some positive results early on, he has lost in his opening match in the last three tournaments he has played.

On his day, he is very capable of upsetting top 20 players but he hast just one win against a top ten player and that came against Rune in the US Open in 2023.

Carballes Baena leads the head-to-head 2-1 and it will be interesting to see how this one plays out. The Spaniard has been woeful of late and while Rune has not been much better, we just favour him to get the win here.
