Holger Rune vs Casper Ruud prediction

Holger Rune recovered from losing the first set and ended up cruising to victory as he defeated Sebastian Baez 4-6 6-1 6-2 to make the quarter-finals. The Dane improved his level as the match wore on while he also capitalised on an increasing number of errors from his Argentinian opponent. 

He takes on last year’s champion Casper Ruud in a hotly anticipated quarter-final match. Despite not being at his best, Ruud came through his round-of-16 match against Hamad Medjedovic, breaking at the end of both sets to win 7-5 7-5. He was down a break to the Serbian in both of the sets early on but came back.

Ruud completely dominates the head-to-head between the two players, leading 6-1 overall and 5-1 on clay. Despite the Norwegian not being at his best in the early rounds of the tournament, his dominance over Rune and the fact that he’s on a seven-match winning run at the event, all in straight sets, means we are giving him the edge here.
