Hellas Verona Preview: Hovering above the drop
Hellas Verona started their season well before drifting away quite badly but they now begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting outside of the bottom three and the relegation places in Serie A after two wins in their last three matches at the back end of 2024.
They pulled off a fun 3-2 win away at Parma a few weeks ago and then once again won by three goals to two as they defeated Bologna last week thanks to an 88th minute winning own goal scored by Bologna forward Santiago Castro.
Udinese Preview: Entertaining Friulians
Udinese have been much improved this season after the Pozzo family turned their attention back towards the Friulians and away from Watford. Following the appointment of Legia Warsaw boss Kosta Runjaic, they are now pushing towards the European spots.
The visitors come into this one on the back of an entertaining 2-2 draw with Torino at Bluenergy Stadium in Friuli last weekend in a game in which they did lead by two goals to nil thanks to goals from Isaak Toure and Lorenzo Lucca before having to settle for a point.
Hellas Verona Team News: Darko a doubt
Key man Darko Lazovic is once again a doubt for Hellas Verona this weekend due to illness. The home team have several other injury concerns, though, such as long-term absentee Juan Manuel Cruz as well as the likes of Martin Frese and Abdou Harroui.

Udinese Team News: A few injuries
The aforementioned Isaak Toure is now an injury doubt for Udinese this weekend and there are several other doubts such as Lautaro Giannetti and former Watford striker Keinan Davis, with first-choice goalkeeper Maduka Okoye now sidelined due to a wrist injury.

Hellas Verona vs Udinese Prediction
In their 18 matches so far this season, Hellas Verona have been unpredictable and chaotic with six victories and 12 defeats in those 18 games. They have been entertaining to watch, too, with those 18 games consisting of 66 goals. They now face an Udinese side that have themselves been entertaining with their 18 games consisting of 51 goals as they push for European qualification with both teams scoring looking a good bet for this one at the Marcantonio Bentegodi.
