The prediction

Hawthorn lost their second successive match after starting the season with four straight wins. They will have lost few admirers though against a strong Geelong Cats side that handled the big moments just a little better.

The West Coast Eagles were valiant in defeat at home against the Essendon Bombers going down by just the two points. They will take some positives from this match after several heavy defeats already this season. They led deep into the third quarter until a lack of experience became apparent and they tired late.

Hawthorn have won their past three matches against the rebuilding Eagles, averaging 67-point margins during that time. With Jack Gunston and Mabior Chol leading the way in the forward line, tis game has all the makings of another tough trip East for the Eagles.
