The prediction

The GWS Giants were disappointing in their second match in Adelaide in a week. They fell to the Crows 52-34 finding goals and scoring opportunities in general, very difficult.

The Western Bulldogs were inspired by the return of Captain Marcus Bontempelli, and he spearheaded a strong victory against St Kilda. The “Bont” as he is affectionally known had 24 touches and two goals in a 70-point demolition job that sees the Bulldogs back in the eight as we enter round seven. The return of Bontempelli was soured by the loss of young forward Sam Darcy to a season ending ACL injury.

The Bulldogs recent record against the Giants has been exceptional. They have won eight of their past ten matches with two of those wins coming in Canberra. The larger dimensions of the Manuka Oval field often makes for a difficult adjustment for visiting teams however the Bulldogs haven’t been one of them.

The Giants have plenty of match winners in their stocks with Lachie Whitfield, Tom Green and Lachlan Ash all in the top 15 of ball winners in the competition. They will also welcome back Jesse Hogan at full forward to provide the key target they lacked against the Crows.

If the weather stays dry we think there is enough points scored here to take the over.
