Guram Kutateladze: Georgian vet looking for successive wins in UFC for first time

Guram Kutateladze (13-4) Is coming off just his second win in the UFC that victory over Jordan Vucenic was very welcome after back-to-back losses prior to that. The Georgian one of his UFC debut in October 2020 but lost on his second fight almost two years later. He was then knocked out by Elves Brener in July 2023 with his career looking a little bleak but his win over Vucenic keeps him alive in the UFC.

Kaue Fernandes: Brazilian aiming to build on first UFC victory

Kaue Fernandes (9-2) lost on his UFC debut against Marc Diakiese albeit it by split decision but he rebounded nicely in August last year to TKO Mohammed Yahya. The Brazilian is used to stopping his opponents with seven of his nine wins not requiring the judges and he will be hoping to seal successive wins in the Octagon for the first time in London.

Guram Kutateladze vs Kaue Fernandes Prediction

The opening fight on the card at UFC Fight Night 255 should be highly entertaining with two experienced fighters desperately needing a win to help progress their careers in the promotion.

Neither man has been in the UFC particularly long but it is Kutateladze who is the more experienced man and his full against some good quality opponents. Victories over Mateusz Gamrot and Jordan Vucenic show that you can compete at this level.

Fernandes will be looking for the knockout but the Brazilian is likely to be thwarted by the experienced Georgian. Expect Kutateladze to take him down several times and grind out the win on the judges’ scorecards.

Prediction: Guram Kutateladze to win by decision
