Gunnar Nelson vs Kevin Holland Prediction

A big favourite on the UFC's cards in Europe, Gunnar Nelson returns to action after almost two years of inactivity and it will be interesting to see how the Icelandic star performs. He has fought two times in just over five years as his two wins over Takashi Sato and Bryan Barbarena are the only fights he has had since September 2019.

During that time, his opponent here Kevin Holland has had 21 fights in contrast. The hugely-entertaining 32-year-old has lost four of his last five fights but he will be hoping that his activity serves him well in this bout.

Remarkably, despite his inactivity it is Nelson who comes into this fight as the favourite with the bookmakers. He is such a good technician and while he has not had that many fights of late, there is little doubt that he will have been training hard during that time.

As much as we like Kevin Holland, he has shown that he is extremely vulnerable at the highest level in recent years. While it is hard to love Nelson due to his inactivity, we just think he will be too skilled and he should be able to notify Holland’s threats. We marginally prefer the Icelandic star to win by either submission or on the scorecards.

Prediction: Gunnar Nelson to win by submission or decison
