Guinea-Bissau vs Burkina Faso Prediction

Guinea-Bissau, under the management of former West Ham United attacker Luis Boa Morte, have managed a win with three draws and a defeat in their five matches, whilst Burkina Faso do sit second in Group A, just above Sierra Leone on goal difference.

Guinea-Bissau had their four-match unbeaten start to CAF’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification ended the other day by the aforementioned Sierra Leone at the neutral venue of the Samuel Kanyon Deo Sports Complex in Liberia. They went 2-0 down in that game before getting a goal back via Tamble Monteiro but conceded again in second-half stoppage-time.

Burkina Faso have been one of the better sides in Africa in the last decade and a half or so but they have yet to earn FIFA World Cup qualifying and they are unlikely to do so once again, at least automatically, this time around as they sit five points adrift of a strong Egypt side in Group A. They hammered Djibouti by four goals to one the other day.

Guinea-Bissau will have home advantage for this one so may well get on the front foot, whilst Burkina Faso have some genuine quality in the final third so both teams scoring seems a good bet.
