Jacob Fearnley’s push towards the top 50 continues in Madrid as he targets another scalp in the shape of veteran Grigor Dimitrov. 

The Brit came from a set down to oust 19th seed Tomas Machac 1-6 6-3 6-2 and make it four wins on the bounce in the Spanish capital, including qualifiers. 

Dimitrov showed no sign of any issue following his double bagel defeat to Alex de Minaur in the Monte Carlo quarter finals as he returned to action with a superb 6-3 6-4 victory over Nicolas Jarry. 

This will be their first ever meeting and the 15th seed will be the favourite, but Fearnley continues to go against the script and could be a good bet to take this to a decider.
