Grigor Dimitrov vs Carlos Alcaraz Prediction
Grigor Dimitrov came through a monumental battle with veteran Gael Monfils in the third round as he edged a three-set thriller 7-6 4-6 7-6 to progress to the round of 16. It will be interesting to see how much that took out of him given his physical issues in 2025 so far and he will be pushed even harder physically in this match as he comes up against 21-year-old Carlos Alcaraz.
The Spaniard has coasted through his matches so far beating Quentin Halys and Denis Shapovalov losing just six games in total in each of those encounters.
His serving was not quite at the usual levels against Shapovalov but the rest of his game was outstanding as he eased to victory.
He too will know he will likely have to raise his performance levels against Dimitrov who has beaten him on the last two occasions they have met. Alcaraz leads the head-to-head 3-2 but Dimitrov won their only encounter last year in Miami.
Alcaraz is focused and determined to get back to his best right now and we like what we are seeing of him at Indian Wells. Dimitrov is more than capable of beating him but with long rallies likely to be aplenty, we prefer the youth and energy of Alcaraz in this one.
