GREECE PREVIEW: ADDITIONAL HEADING HERE

It has been an impressive last few years as the Greek national team continue their improvement but it has now been over ten years since they lost qualified for a major tournament, 20 years on from winning UEFA EURO 2004.

Managed by Ivan Jovanovic, Ethniki eased past Finland by three goals to nil a couple of months ago before a 2-0 win in Dublin and then that aforementioned victory against England last month. That win against the English was followed by another comfortable 2-0 win versus Ireland.

ENGLAND PREVIEW: ADDITIONAL HEADING HERE

Since England last played, the runners’ up of both UEFA EURO 2020 and UEFA EURO 2024, the Three Lions have appointed their new permanent coach with former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel set to take charge from New Year’s Day.

Lee Carsley remains in interim charge of England and they are under a bit of pressure ahead of this week with promotion back to League A on the line. They have won their other three matches aside from their defeat to Greece.

GREECE VS ENGLAND PREDICTION

Greece have become a solid and effective machine under Jovanovic. Against Finland and Ireland they have played genuinely good football and dominated proceedings, whilst still being impressive against England but in a more reactive sense with smart counter-attacking moves dicing up England time and again after dominating the opening exchanges. England are dealing with a plethora of injuries and many may not believe these games matter for their international futures with Tuchel arriving in January so Greece to get a result would seem a more than good value bet.
