• Patrick Cantlay is perhaps playing the best golf of his career and playing in his home town on a course that is likely to suit could well see him produce yet another good performance with the American looking capable of winning the Genesis Invitational.
• Cantlay’s consistency to begin the year has been excellent having finished in the top ten at all four events so far and despite narrowly missing out at last week’s Phoenix Open, he can bounce back from that play-off defeat to Scottie Scheffler by going one better here.

• On a course that rewards accuracy, Collin Morikawa will fancy his chances of putting himself in the mix for the victory owing to his ability off the tee and another good showing here will keep up his assault on the #1 spot in the world rankings.
• Like Cantlay, Morikawa looks suited to this course in his home city and having also finished in the top ten at his last four PGA Tour events, the 25-year-old is capable of putting four good rounds together to at reward each-way backers at the very least.
