DUSTIN JOHNSON

  • Dustin Johnson warmed up nicely for the Masters last weekend as he finished in the Houston Open and will have been heartened by some of his putting including a sensational 60-footer at one stage in the final round.
  • Nobody is playing better than the world number one in the last couple of months and Johnson is capable of keeping this superb form going and improving on his tied-second-place finish last year to win on Sunday afternoon.

PATRICK CANTLAY

  • One of the form players coming into the Masters is Patrick Cantlay who won the Zozo Championship in his last appearance with a remarkably consistent and quality -23 performance and that came after a T38 at The CJ Cup and T8 at the Shriners before that.
  • In his last appearance at Augusta, Cantlay finished tied for ninth as after two slow opening rounds, he responded with a 64 in round three and 68 in the final round, so he will be confident especially with his putting form, of challenging for a top five finish here.

TYRELL HATTON

  • Englishman Tyrell Hatton is the form Brit on the PGA Tour right now having picked up two top ten finishes in his last three events and those are coming off his PGA Championship win at Wentworth in October.
  • One of the standout features of his recent good performances has been his fast start as he shot 65s in the first round of The CJ Cup and then the Zozo Championship and while he does not have much of a track record at Augusta, his strong form in recent events could carry over into the first round of this tournament.

BROOKS KOEPKA

  • There were ominous signs at the Houston Open last weekend that four-time Major winner Brooks Koepka is on his way back to finding some of his best form as he finished fifth in that event following two stunning final rounds where he shot 65 on the Saturday and Sunday.
  • He has yet to win the Masters but his form at Augusta is trending in the right direction with T33, T21, T11 and T2 in his four appearances and while he may not be as sharp as Dustin Johnson is, he can push the leaders all the way on Sunday evening and come very close if not win.
