TSZ TIPS
THOMAS PIETERS
- Thomas Pieters will look on with envy next week as the Ryder Cup gets underway without him being a participant but he will harbour hopes of representing Europe once again and a win here would be a good way of helping him get back on track after an underwhelming couple of years.
- Pieters produced a strong performance at the BMW PGA Championship, ending the week tied for ninth spot with that effort highlighting the recent improvements to his game and he can build on that by overcoming what is a much weaker field to earn the Belgian a fifth European Tour success.
TIP: Winner (12/1)
BRANDEN GRACE
- Branden Grace comes into this on the back of a disappointing effort at Wentworth last week with the South African missing the cut but that has afforded him a little extra time to prepare for this event.
- Having finished in a tie for seventh at the US Open, Grace has produced some other solid results this year and while his efforts of late have been a little off, he has won a PGA Tour event this year so he makes great appeal in a weakened field with a ninth European Tour victory in his sights.
TIP: Winner e/w (16/1)
JOOST LUITEN
- Joost Luiten is a two-time winner of this event and the Dutchman clearly enjoys it round here with the support of the locals so it would not be a surprise if he gets himself into the mix once again come Sunday.
- He has produced some solid performances of late without really threatening and he will have been content with his performance at Wentworth last week where he finished and ended well but a more consistent tournament here should see him finish in the top ten.
TIP: Top 10 finish (13/5)
