Girona Preview: Girona’s genius coach
Michel confirmed at the start of this season that he expected Girona to struggle after a massive summer shake-up saw then lose several key men that delivered them a third place finish and a first ever UEFA Champions League qualification in just their fifth ever La Liga season last year.
The Catalans have won one and lost four of their five games on the continent so far this season and are now perhaps drinking at last chance saloon. They come into this one on the back of a 3-0 defeat at home to an unconvincing Real Madrid side in Catalonia at the weekend.
Liverpool Preview: The controlled Slot machine
Following the appointment of Arne Slot over the summer, Liverpool have turned themselves into something of a winning machine as the Reds try and win their 20th Premier League title but also sit with a 100% record in their opening five matches of the UEFA Champions League.
They were due to play the final league Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park against Everton at the weekend but that game was postponed due to Storm Darragh. They did drop a couple of points last week in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

Liverpool Team News: Alisson close to return

Girona vs Liverpool Prediction
Girona have improved domestically as the season has gone on and they are challenging for a top-half finish once again, which is respectable even after finishing third last season. They have a limit to their quality this time around, though, and a top 24 finish is very unlikely. Liverpool will be grateful for a slight break over the weekend as they now get set to tackle a very important month or so with that month likely to begin with a victory in this one.
Girona vs Liverpool Tip: Liverpool to win
