Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard has started 2025 how he finished 2024 in fine form and the talented Frenchman is impressing in Brisbane. After beating Nick Kyrgios in three sets, Mpetshi Perricard beat Frances Tiafoe 6-4 7-6 firing down 20 more aces to make it through to the quarters.

He will now face Czech 19-year-old Jakub Mensik who has made a good start to the new season himself. He has beaten Mikhail Kukushkin and Dusan Lajovic in straight sets and he will be well rested and primed to take on Mpetshi Perricard here.

It is fair to say that the tall Frenchman has been playing at the higher level so far this week and he can also look to his last meeting with Mensik for further confidence. He won on the Challenger Tour back in 2023 on clay and with this being on hard surface, that should benefit him even more so.
