Getafe Preview: Typical Jose Bordalas
In his second stint in charge, the ever hostile and aggressive Jose Bordalas is once again getting his Getafe side to overachieve, to a different extent, as they try and push themselves into the middle of the table in La Liga with a limited and small squad.
The hosts went into the break on the back of back-to-back victories with a come-from-behind 2-1 defeat of Atletico Madrid at the Coliseum being backed up by another come-from-behind 2-1 win away from home at El Sadar against Osasuna in Pamplona.
Villarreal Preview: Entertaining Yellow Submarine
Villarreal started the season in chaotic and fashion and, throughout the campaign, their form and matches have been brilliant to watch for a neutral with their 27 La Liga matches consisting of 87 goals as they begin the weekend sitting tucked inside the top five with a game-in-hand.
However, they did suffer a loss to Real Madrid before the March international break in a game in which they took an early lead at El Madrigal via Juan Foyth before a Kylian Mbappe brace turned the game on its head before the 23rd minute.
Getafe Team News: Uche suspended
As mentioned, Getafe have a small and limited squad which has led Jose Bordalas to deploy players out of position, such as defensive midfielder Christantus Uche up-front, and he is now missing through suspension for this weekend.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): David Soria; Djene, Domingos Duarte, Omar Alderete, Diego Rico; Luis Milla, Mauro Arambarri; Ramon Terrats, Da Costa, Alex Sola; Juanmi
Unavailable: Uche (Suspended)
Questionable:
Villarreal Team News: Gerard a doubt
Villarreal club captain Gerard Moreno is likely to be unavailable for Villarreal this weekend as he deals with a strain alongside former Watford defender Kiko Femenia. Morocco international attacker Ilias Akhomach is also sidelined due to an ACL injury.
Predicted XI (4-4-2): Conde; Foyth, Kambwala, Costa, Sergi Cardona; Buchanan, Santi Comesana, Gueye, Alex Baena; Pepe, Ayoze
Unavailable: Akhomach (Injured)
Questionable: Kiko Femenia (Injured), Gerard (Injured)
Getafe vs Villarreal Prediction
Getafe’s typically defensive and aggressive style of football gets results but the hosts have managed to score just 25 goals in 28 games this season with most of those coming in the last month or so. They take on a Villarreal side, though, that are chaotic. That may well benefit the visitors if they can draw out a side inexperienced with dealing with an open game. As well as that, Getafe’s home form has remained fairly poor but their away form has been better. So, Villarreal would be slight favourites for this one.
Getafe vs Villarreal Tip: Double chance – Villarreal to win or draw
