GETAFE PREVIEW: SOLID GETAFE

Getafe, coached by former coach Jose Bordalas in his second stint in charge, begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just outside of the bottom three and the relegation places with one victory, seven draws and four defeats in their opening 12 matches.

The Madrid-based club come into this one on the back of a rare defeat at Balaidos in Galicia against an impressive Celta Vigo side lats weekend. Greek international Tasos Douvikas scored a seventh minute winner in that game.

GIRONA PREVIEW: THE CFG MESS

Girona lost Aleix Garcia, Savio and Artem Dovbyk in the summer transfer window and it has been an underwhelming campaign this season as they sit in the bottom-half of the table after a third placed finish last year in just their fifth top-flight campaign.

The Catalans have endured a miserable campaign in the UEFA Champions League and that continued at the Philips Stadion in midweek as they were thrashed by four goals to nil by Dutch league leaders PSV Eindhoven.

GIRONA TEAM NEWS: RIDICULOUS INJURY LIST

GETAFE VS GIRONA PREDICTION

Getafe, as mentioned, have won just one game all season but it is their defensive rigidity and solidity that protects them against losing too many either. They are low-scoring and difficult to watch and this is a real clash of styles given the nature that Michel has always set his Girona side out to play in. Girona will be feeling fragile after their midweek hammering and that is not the mood you want to be when facing Jose Bordalas – especially at the Coliseum.

GETAFE VS GIRONA TIP: DOUBLE CHANCE – GETAFE TO WIN OR DRAW
