Gerwyn Price has endured a difficult tough 2024 and shared his challenges in a revealing interview with the Guardian in the build-up to the tournament. His game was notably out of sorts earlier in the year and in the Premier League but a break during the year has reaped its rewards and there have been signs of Price getting back to his best of late.

The 2021 winner will have to hit the ground running too as he faces talented young Irishman Keane Barry on the last match on Monday evening.

The 22-year-old won his first-round match on Sunday against Kim Huybrechts 3-1 and he will be raring to go against the tenth seed. He has never reached the third round before and he has never beaten Price so that is why he comes into this match as such as underdog.

Price will be fired up here but he does need to start fast. There is a chance of shock here and we would not rule it out. We do think Price gets the win eventually but there could be some drama along the way.
