Gerwyn Price was not going to allow his name to be added to the list of seeds being knocked out in the second round as he cantered to a 3-0 win over young Irish talent Keane Barry.

Price produced an average of 91.32 and looked in general control throughout in an accomplished display and that will give him great confidence and he returns to action post-Christmas.

He faces a tough third-round encounter against Joe Cullen who was an angry man after he won his second-round match 3-0 against Wessel Nijman. He was not happy with a perceived lack of respect from the darts media and that clearly motivated him in that performance as he sought to prove a point.

It will be interesting to see how he comes into this match and what his mindset is. The Bradford man will need to put that to the back of his mind and focus on this tough clash with Price as anything other than absolute focus will likely see him come unstuck.
