Gaston Bolanos: The Dreamkiller looking to get back on track

Gaston Bolanos (7-4) is coming off a TKO loss to Marcus McGhee at UFC Fight Night 234 in January so he will look to get back on track here. The 32-year-old won on his UFC debut in April 2023 but has lost three of his last five bouts overall and really does need a win in this one.

Cortavious Romious: Contender Series grad aims to hit the ground running

Cortavious Romious (9-2) made it through the Contender Series at the second time of asking in August and he will now get to make his long-awaited debut in the UFC.  He 30-year-old suffered a TKO loss the first time he tried to get through he Contender Series in October 2023 but he came back and earned his shot which he will be desperate to take full advantage of.

Gaston Bolanos vs Cortavious Romious Prediction

This is a really interesting bout in the UFC’s bantamweight division between Gaston Bolanos and Cortavious Romious. Bolanos has been in Bellator and then the UFC and after a getting his chances following a string of knockouts, he has just lost his way a little.

Romious has momentum on his side having come through the Contender Series but he has not fought at the level of Bolanos despite the more impressive record.

So much will depend on how Bolanos comes back from his TKO loss last time out. Assuming he comes back in good shape and has recovered well, there is some value on him in this one.

The KO is undoubtedly Bolanos’ best route to victory, while Romious probably has more ways to win especially if he uses this wrestling to grind out the win. He also possesses a good set of submissions and there is every chance he takes advantage of Bolanos perhaps being a little gun shy after his TKO loss and wrestles his way to victory.

This may be tactical more than explosive but we lean towards Romious getting an ugly win.

Prediction: Cortavious Romious to win via submission or decision
