Gael Monfils continues to impress in the early stages of 2025 and the ever-popular Frenchman comes off an excellent 6-1 7-6 win over Jan-Lennard Struff on Wednesday. After a good rest between seasons, Monfils has hit the ground running and is enjoying himself in Auckland.

He now meets Facundo Diaz Acosta who picked up a straight-sets win of his own as he beat compatriot Sebastian Baez for the first time at the third time of asking on the ATP Tour. He won that match 6-4 7-6 and he has now won four matches to reach this stage including qualifying.

Monfils will be raring to go here and his form is really strong. Diaz Acosta will be no pushover but we have to favour Monfils to get the win and move into the semi-finals.
