Gabriel Diallo vs Lorenzo Sonego Prediction

Gabriel Diallo comes into his second tournament of 2025 after playing in Hong Kong last week where he reached the round of 16. He beat Hugo Grenier in the qualifiers and then Roberto Carballes Baena before losing to Lorenzo Musetti and now he returns to action to face another Italian.

He meets Lorenzo Sonego on Tuesday with the Italian also playing at the Hong Kong Open last week and also being eliminated in the round of 16. He lost to Cam Norrie but that came after a good win over Brandon Nakashima.

The pair have never met before so there is little history to go on ahead of this one and the betting is pretty even. Diallo has good potential and there were some positive signs of him kicking on late in 2024 but we just lean towards the experience and guile of Sonego in this one.
