Fulham Preview: Inconsistency a frustration

The main issue with Fulham in recent weeks is that you’re never quite sure what to expect with them. In certain weeks they are excellent and recording victories against the likes of Nottingham Forest or Newcastle. Then in other weeks they are losing to Crystal Palace, or most recently Brighton which is why a midtable finish seems likely.

At least they have an FA Cup run to focus on after overcoming Man Utd on penalties at Old Trafford, putting Marco Silva’s side within one game off a (short) trip to Wembley. Their quarter-final takes place at the end of March.

Tottenham Preview: Two without a league win

Tottenham have picked up just a point over the course of their last two Premier League fixtures since a thumping 1-4 victory away at Ipswich. A narrow 0-1 defeat at home against Man City was followed up by an entertaining 2-2 draw vs Bournemouth which sae Ange Postecoglou’s men come from two goals down to salvage a point.

Like Fulham, Spurs also still have a chance of silverware this season after progressing through to the next round of the Europa League over AZ Alkmaar. Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt now lie in wait.

Fulham Team News: Change in formation

Silva could revert to a back four for this game with Issa Diop perhaps making way. Lukic is suspended, so Andreas Pereira would likely be the one to play in central midfield alongside Sander Berge. Adama Traore is fit.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Pereira, Berge; Traore, Smith-Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez

Unavailable: Lukic (Suspended), Nelson (Injured), Tete (Injured), Wilson (Injured)

Tottenham Team News: Odobert to start after midweek brace

Wilson Odobert impressed this past Thursday night, scoring twice against AZ Alkmaar and it would be no surprise if he were rewarded with a place in the starting line-up here over Brennan Johnson. Kulusevski is out injured.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Vicario; Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Spence; Sarr, Bentancur, Maddison; Odobert, Solanke, Son

Unavailable: Danso (Injured), Dragusin (Injured), Kulusevski (Injured), Richarlison (Injured)

Fulham vs Tottenham Prediction

Tottenham are notoriously unreliable and on the back of a European fixture only a few days ago, Fulham are in prime position to take advantage of this. The hosts could well impose themselves more on the game as it goes on and Spurs likely begin to tire. You also have to factor in Spurs’ defensive frailties, which could well be taken advantage of by a team of Fulham’s pace and power going forward.

Expect a response from the Cottagers following last weekend and for them to get something here against Spurs as they did in the reverse fixture. Utilise the double chance market to back both a draw and a Fulham win.

Fulham vs Tottenham Tip: Double chance - Fulham/draw
