Fulham Preview: Cottagers want Europe

Marco Silva’s Fulham were left frustrated at Craven Cottage last weekend as they suffered a 3-0 annihilation at the hands of Crystal Palace in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup due to goals from Eberechi Eze, Ismaila Sarr and Eddie Nketiah.

They have since suffered another defeat in another London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in midweek, losing by two goals to one. They do remain firmly in contention for a top seven or eight finish and potential European qualification, though.

Liverpool Preview: Inching towards the title

Arne Slot’s Liverpool endured a difficult few weeks before and during the March international break. UEFA Champions League elimination at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain was followed by a defeat to Newcastle United in the final of the EFL Cup.

That was then followed by further suggestions that Trent Alexander-Arnold was departing for Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer. They did manage to edge towards their 20th English title in midweek as they defeated Everton by a goal to nil in the Merseyside Derby.

Fulham Team News: Couple of injuries

In his pre-match press conference, Marco Silva has confirmed that there are no fresh injury concerns for this weekend's visit of the league leaders. Kenny Tete has returned to training and could make the squad for this weekend, whilst both Harry Wilson and Reiss Nelson remain sidelined for the Cottagers.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Leno; Andersen, Diop, Bassey; Castagne, Berge, Lukic, Robinson; Iwobi, Smith Rowe; Jimenez

Liverpool Team News: Alisson remains a doubt

Arne Slot has said Alisson missed the derby through concussion so must follow the protocols before returning to the goal. Conor Bradley has been described as ‘wait and see’ in terms of his fitness by Slot, whilst both Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold are sidelined.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Kelleher; Jones, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Jota

Unavailable: Gomez (Injured), Alexander-Arnold (Injured)

Questionable: Alisson (Concussion), Bradley (Injured)

Fulham vs Liverpool Prediction

Fulham have put in some really impressive performances this season and the motivation to play against the champions-elect would mean they will likely raise their game and play on the front foot from the start. That said, though, Liverpool have been able to grind out victories and performances throughout the campaign so they may well concede but they would have to remain favourites down in west London.
