Francisco Comesana was made to work hard against veteran Martin Klizan in the first round, committing five double faults but also winning 80% of points on his first serve as he came from a set down to win 4-6 7-5 7-5.

Roberto Bautista Agut also had to come from a set down during his 3-6 6-2 7-5 victory against China’s Yunchaokete Bu, with the duration of the match reaching two hours and 52 minutes. The Spaniard also made five double faults but managed to grind his way through and eventually break towards the end of the third set to seal his first win on tour since late February in Dubai.

In what will be the first meeting between the two, it will need to be a quick recovery time for the 36-year-old and we believe that may swing things in favour of Comesana. Also, despite his win, Bautista Agut still gave up 17 break points and the young Argentine is likely to convert more of those opportunities if they present themselves again.
