Francisco Cerundolo vs Luciano Darderi Prediction

Francisco Cerundolo is a man on a mission at the moment and after losing the final in Buenos Aires to Brazilian Joao Fonseca, he would love nothing more than to lift the trophy in Rio this week.

He got past Hugo Gaston in the first round winning 7-6 6-0 and now he meets Italy’s Luciano Darderi for the second time in a week. Cerundolo won last week 6-4 6-4 in a pretty competitive match but he was clearly the better player.

Darderi will look to avenge that and he will know he needs to raise his game here. He was leading against Hugo Dellien 7-6 2-2 in the first round before his opponent withdrew but he can expect a tougher challenge against Cerundolo.

All the momentum is with Cerundolo right now and he is playing with good confidence. Darderi will put up a fight here but we cannot oppose the Argentine who is simply playing the better tennis.
