Francisco Cerundolo vs Laslo Djere Prediction

Francisco Cerundolo came through a tough quarter-final against compatriot Tomas Etcheverry on Friday as he battled back from a set down to win 4-6 6-3 7-5.

Cerundolo has had a really busy few weeks after reaching the final in Buenos Aires, the quarters in Rio last week and now the semis once again in the Chilean capital here.

He takes on Serb veteran Laslo Djere and they have only met once before. That came back in 2020 in Argentina and Djere won in three sets. It is hard to imagine that match having too much of a bearing on this one.

Djere comes off a 7-6 4-6 6-4 win over Jaime Faria on Friday and that was comfortably the toughest test he has faced this week. 

It is Djere who comes into this as the marginal underdog but we like his chances. He skipped Rio last week but after a good week in Buenos Aires and the 29-year-old can reach his sixth ATP Tour final here.
