Francisco Cerundolo vs Carlos Alcaraz Prediction

25th-seed Francisco Cerundolo is playing some excellent tennis this week and he comes off an outstanding victory over Alex de Minaur. His 7-5 6-3 could very well rank among the best of his career and he is full of confidence as he comes into another incredibly tough test.

He meets second-seed Carlos Alcaraz for a place in the semis and they have only ever met once before on the ATP Tour. Alcaraz won that match at Queen’s 6-1 7-5 last year.

The 21-year-old Spaniard is in fine form this week and he has dismissed all his opponents in straight sets. The manner of his 6-1 6-1 win over Grigor Dimitrov in the round of 16 was emphatic and he was incredibly sharp in that match.

It is hard to see anything other than an Alcaraz win the way that he is playing but Cerundolo could well be competitive here. The Argentine is playing some good stuff but it is unlikely to be good enough to really threaten Alcaraz.
