Francisco Cerundolo vs Alexander Shevchenko prediction

Francisco Cerundolo got his BMW Open campaign off to a flying start with a thumping victory over last year’s winner Jan-Lennard Struff. He eased to a 6-0 6-2 win after just 54 minutes, only giving up one break point in the entire match and winning a commanding 94% of points on his first serve.

Alexander Shevchenko picked up an impressive win of his own as he took down the recent Bucharest Open champion Flavio Cobolli in three sets. The Kazakhstani saved an impressive 17 out of 21 break points during the match as he won 6-7 6-3 6-4.

Cerundolo leads the head-to-head 2-1, though they have never played on clay before. Despite the encouraging victory, Shevchenko still gave up too many opportunities during his first-round match and will be punished if similar errors persist in his game.

Ever since the Australian Open, Cerundolo has reached the quarter-finals or more of every event with the exception of Monte-Carlo when he ran into Carlos Alcaraz in the second-round. The 22-year-old is having a really promising season on the tour, and we expect him to win this comfortably.

Francisco Cerundolo vs Alexander Shevchenko tip: Francisco Cerundolo to win 2-0
