Francesca Jones has shown some positive signs on clay this season. She made it through the qualifying stage here, defeating Cristina Busca 7-6 3-6 6-1 to enter the main draw. She also reached the round-of-16 stage in Oeiras a week ago. Yastremeka had made it through qualifying. She enjoyed a brilliant run to the final of the Linz Open in late January, not dropping a set, before losing to Ekaterina Alexandrova. That was the first WTA final for the player since 2022.

Yastremeka has shown how dangerous a player she can be this season, and she should have far too much for Jones in this encounter.
