FRANCE PREVIEW: LES BLEUS’ PROBLEMS

There is growing pressure on 2018 FIFA World Cup winning manager Didier Deschamps with Les Bleus underwhelming quite significantly in terms of performance level in recent years and the two-time world champions have been very average at the start of this UEFA Nations League.

The French took a lead within 12 seconds of their first game against Italy before suffering a 3-1 defeat at the Parc des Princes. Since then, though, they have enjoyed three successive victories with two wins against Belgium and a victory against Israel.

ISRAEL PREVIEW: STRUGGLING IN A TOUGH GROUP

Ran Ben Shimon’s Israel are currently ranked 81st in the world with the issue of not being able to play home games due to the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine. Their UEFA Nations League League A campaign has been very difficult.

‘The Chosen Team’ started their campaign with a 3-1 defeat to Belgium in Hungary during the September international break before a 2-1 loss to Italy in Hungary, a 4-1 loss to France in Hungary and then a 4-1 defeat to Italy in Udine.

FRANCE VS ISRAEL PREDICTION

This has the potential be quite one-sided. There are warnings in place for Israeli supporters travelling to Paris after the incidents between Ajax and Maccabi Tel-Aviv fans in Amsterdam last week and the ongoing situation can often lead to quite bizarre and subdued atmospheres in international events involving Israel. A subdued performance is also a common occurrence for France at the minute, despite being obvious heavy favourites for this one.
