KOREA REPUBLIC PREVIEW: FREE-SCORING SIDE AIM TO REPLICATE SECOND ROUND SHOWING

Korea Republic dropped just two points in the second round of AFC FIFA World Cup qualifying, winning five games in total. Son Heung-min racked up seven goals, the joint most of any team across the qualification stages so far, which underlines his goal threat ahead of this next encounter with Palestine.

Also in Group B are the likes of Iraq, Jordan, Oman and Kuwait, so Korea Republic will know the importance of starting off strongly, laying down a marker early on and putting three points on the board, showing why they are tipped to top the group.

PALESTINE PREVIEW: ADVANCING ALONGSIDE AUSTRALIA NO MEAN FEAT

Australia were always likely to win their group in the FIFA World Cup second round of qualification in the AFC. However, the big question was which team would join them in the third round as runners-up. In the end, it was Palestine that made it, after picking up eight points from their six Group I fixtures.

Palestine won two, drew two and were also beaten in two matches. This represents arguably their toughest fixture in the third round of qualifying and whatever the result, it certainly won’t define their campaign.

KOREA REPUBLIC VS PALESTINE PREDICTION

When taking into account the proven world class factor of Korea Republic’s three-pronged attack, let along how well they play together as a trio, it’s exceedingly difficult to see Palestine being able to match them across 90 minutes here. Korea Republic are expected to create plenty of chances and the big question is how many can they convert.

With Lee, Hwang and Son on the pitch, the answer is likely to be a healthy number. It would be no surprise to see Korea Republic find the net a few times over the course of this contest and with that in mind, backing them to triumph over Palestine by at least three clear goals appears a shrewd move.
