These are two sides often down at the bottom end of the CONMEBOL qualifying table for a FIFA World Cup but the Venezuelans have started very well and also enjoyed an impressive CONMEBOL Copa America over the summer, too.

BOLIVIA PREVIEW: THE HOME ADVANTAGE

Bolivia are famous for relying on their home advantage of playing in the high altitude city of La Paz and that remains their best way of getting a result in South America. They have started this qualifying campaign with one win and six defeats thus far.

The Bolivians come into this September international break on the back of a very poor CONMEBOL Copa America campaign in which they finished bottom of a group consisting of Uruguay, the United States and Panama, conceding ten goals in the process.

VENEZUELA PREVIEW: FERNANDO BATISTA’S IMPRESSIVE LA VINOTINTO

Under the management of Fernando Batista, the Venezuelans performed well at the aforementioned CONMEBOL Copa America in the United States, reaching the quarter-finals before a penalty shootout defeat to the Canadians.

That means that, including that tournament, they have now suffered just three defeats inside 90 minutes in their last 20 matches across all competitions and friendly games in a run that stretches back to September 2022.

VENEZUELA TEAM NEWS: MASSIVE SQUAD

PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Rafael Romo; Jon Aramburu, Nahuel Ferraresi, Yordan Osorio, Miguel Navarro; Cristian Casseres Jr; Eduard Bello, Jose Martinez, Yangel Herrera, Darwin Machis; Salomon Rondon

BOLIVIA VS VENEZUELA PREDICTION

Despite the fact that Bolivia have conceded 14 goals in their six matches, this is not expected to be an entertaining and high-scoring encounter. The Bolivians have home advantage whereby the opposition find it difficult to breathe let alone play. With that in mind, the Venezuelans are likely to try and conserve as much energy as possible. This isn’t expected to be a thriller, albeit the visitors remain favourites for all three points.
