THE PREDICTION

At the weekend, Bayer Leverkusen could win their first ever Bundesliga title with Xabi Alonso’s side now 41 games unbeaten across all competitions so far this season. They have been remarkably impressive and even switched up their game to become a winning machine in the last month or so, grinding out victories like they did on Saturday, defeating Union Berlin by a goal to nil in the capital. West Ham United are the reigning UEFA Europa Conference League winners and, albeit comical to suggest, do genuinely have the players to go to the BayArena and hurt Leverkusen with Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta of a genuinely high level. Leverkusen narrowly escaped humiliation against Qarabag in the previous round and whilst they remain favourites for this first-leg with home advantage; the Irons will be confident of at least scoring, especially with Leverkusen likely to be focused on the aforementioned potential Bundesliga title win.
