Larne did themselves proud away to Norwegian giants Molde in their opening game of the league phase. Tiernan Lynch’s men held out until the 51st minute but once the first goal went in, there was only ever going to be one winner, Molde triumphing 3-0 in the end.
The expectation is that Larne will eye this match up as one which is significantly more winnable and we should see them try to force the issue in what will no doubt be a raucous atmosphere at Windsor Park.
SHAMROCK ROVERS PREVIEW: POINT VS APOEL AN EXCELLENT STARTING POINT
Shamrock Rovers are coming off the back of having claimed a brilliant draw against APOEL despite being reduced to ten men. Not many expected Shamrock to get anything after going behind soon after Conor McKendry’s red card. But Stephen Bradley’s side hung in there and took more risks late on with nothing to lose, which was rewarded in second half stoppage time.
Since then, Shamrock have won their last two league games without conceding a goal, first a 2-0 victory over Shelbourne before triumphing 0-1 away at Drogheda United.
