THE PREDICTION

Sporting have endured an inconsistent time of things of late with them coming into this clash on the back of a five-game W-L sequence. Their loss to Marseille in their Champions League clash last week was their first in this competition and in fact, the four goals they conceded were the first they have allowed in the UCL this season. They will be desperate to bounce back from that horror show in which they found themselves down to 10-men early on when goalkeeper Adán was sent off. The French side will hope to build on their first win in Group D but Sporting are tough to beat on home soil and having won six of their last seven in all competitions at Estádio José Alvalade, they can earn retribution for last week’s embarrassment.
