THE PREDICTION

Bayern were absolutely rampant in the group stage, scoring more goals than any other team and conceding fewer, although they have experienced one or two domestic wobbles since the turn of the year – particularly in defence. That will give this attack-minded Salzburg outfit cause for hope, but the reality is that they are likely to be overpowered by the Bavarian giants. The likes of Leroy Sane and of course Robert Lewandowski have been in scintillating form in Europe this season and there is nothing to suggest that won’t continue here. Bayern are capable of putting this tie to bed in the first leg so an away win in a match containing over 2.5 goals is the prediction.
