THE PREDICTION

The first leg at the Etihad was a tense affair and largely played out as expected, with Atletico setting up defensively in a bid to stifle Man City’s attacking endeavours. This ploy was largely effective but Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne linked up to break the deadlock midway through the second half and that significantly changes the complexion of this return leg, with the hosts now needing to score in order to turn the tie around. That should play in City’s favour as they should be afforded more space with which to operate this time around. The Premier League side are in the driving seat now and can be backed in the draw no bet market as they secure a semi-final berth.
